Who KNEW? Well, Anj Did!
Who knew that tiny little stickers from the dollar store would get me to peel myself off the computer chair and motivate me to go to the gym? Who knew that I would be anxious about missing ONE workout because it would mean losing one sticker and not reaching my goal of 21 stickers for the month? WHO KNEW? Well, Anj did!
I have been scratching my head, trying to figure out WHY I have not been able to get back on track since I veered off during the Holidays. I understand Dawnie…we want it, we know what we need to do to get it, and yet, something holds us back. Obviously that something is ourselves, but why?
Who knows? The answer will probably come to me later OR not at all, right now I’m not caring very much because ALL I care about right now is getting my 21 stickers! Thank you Anj.
This weekend I caught a cold/flu bug and decided to skip the gym yesterday. This means that this week is going to be a long workout week—instead of 3 workouts in a row with a rest day in between the next set of three, I am going to exercise for 4 consecutive days before I take a rest day. Buddies, I need you to pull forces with me and push my butt to make it through the week. My hope is that this cold/flu bug doesn’t kick my butt to the point of knocking me out…so keep your fingers crossed as you remind me that I have to meet my goal for the week. PLEASE!!
Anj asked me why I couldn’t exercise while I have company—here’s the deal—usually when company is over we do the tour guide bit….we leave as early as possible and we stay up late. I hardly get any sleep when we have company, so getting up earlier than my guests is not really an option for me. HOWEVER, I have been thinking and thinking and thinking some more and I will do everything in my power to go for a short run while my guests are still sleeping. I absolutely HAVE TO do it—if the scale isn’t moving any closer to my goal weight, I want to feel I accomplished something big this month….and I know that once I earn my 21 stickers, I will feel empowered. I know it sounds silly, but Anj can attest to the power of the stickers….I know, I feel silly even writing it, but it’s true. If anyone wants to give it a try…I highly recommend it!
Wishing everyone a great week!
Tanae—-welcome back! Let’s get this done once and for all, shall we?
Hehehe, while I would love to take credit for the stickers, that actually came from a buddyslimmer named, Dagny, so kudos goes to her! I just incorporated them into my THINspiration wall. Okay, well I want you to remember one thing…”Don’t let what you can’t do interfere with what you CAN do.” I’m so sorry you are feeling sick Jo, but you can still exercise, maybe just not as much or switch it up with some yoga like Kama does when she isn’t feeling well.
And now I’m adding to our challenge…you gonna play tour guide with your friends? Each day you have to take them somewhere on the tour that can be walked to! Yes girl, get them to exercise with you!!! And you WILL earn those stickers!
Wildcats inspires us whoooooo hooooooo!!
Who is Anj Cookie?
I mean, I know a cute girl who loves harley…I think her user name is harleygirl….dat who u referring to?
*I am tieing my cookie rope as I type* will use to push butt out the door!!!
Yah stickers! You can do it JO JO!
ROFLMAO - go for a run when the guests are sleeping…that’s equivalent to Rod and I trying to do it with peeps in the other room…
Go do it Cookie! HEHE

Hi Jo! Stickers are a wonderful idea. For the first time I have committed to exercising 3 times a week at the GYM! So I will definitely be using that sticker idea. I’m glad to be back!

Yay! Stickers!

I heard someone suggest this, so I went and bought some cool little stickies at the local drug store and every time I do a workout I get to put one on the calendar! And your right, somehow this works!
Best of luck marathon cookie! you can do it!

Hey whatever works, right?
If stickers work then that’s awesome.
I hope you feel better soon and dont get any worse.
I like Anj’s idea about doing yoga or something like that when you aren’t feeling totally up to par.
Sometimes (too often) wrenches get thrown into our plans then we need to work around them rather than give up.
There’s always a Plan B we just gotta think a little harder and come up with it.
That’s what I’ve been working on lately.
Not letting upsets in my routine railroad my workout efforts or my eating on plan.
So hopefully when a cold bug hits or you have company needing your attention you can find ways to still do what you need to for YOU.
I like Anj’s idea too about the walking tour with your visitors.
Or maybe you could all go bowling or something like that.
I know when we are in Vancouver we always end up doing a ton of walking whether it be in China Town or along the Sea wall in Stanley Park.
It’s one of my favorite places.
Now I wish I was there
I am sooooo jealous.
You have a great day
and be proud every time you earn a new sticker.
Hugs

Lori
Well there you go! The Great One has spoken! Nancy, you’re a nut! I can’t really add anything, Lori’s always right on! Hope you get to feeling better soon, Jo!
I’m not only crossing my fingers, but I’m crossing my toes too… wishing that cold/flu bug right outta there!
Jo, thank you so much for the last couple of comments you left on my blogs. Meant the world to me sweetie.
I love the sticker idea. Whatever works I say. My thing is that if I don’t stay on track with the exercise that day, then I don’t get my cup of 2% milk that night. It usually gets me off my @ss and on my feet.
Here’s to great ideas, fun ideas, and HEALTHY LIVING! *clink clink* (milk glasses)
Huggggggggggggggggggggs,
Shan
I bought myself some of those dollar store stickers around a year ago. I had planned on putting them in my food/exercise journal when I had a good day. But I soon forgot and shoved them in a drawer. Maybe I need to start again and put them on something else that would keep me excited! You are right, a bright, shiny sticker does make ya feel good!
Girl. I dont have answers either. Have been thinking a TON about us and why we cant seem to just do what we need to do. I know we both want it and need it, and I know personally, I am wayyy motivated in many areas of my life. But this one stumps me. For sure!
