I Survived!
Today I did something brave—I bought a pair of ice-skates and took my first ice-skating lesson. I was petrified! I honestly envisioned myself hitting the ice face first, knocking out all my teeth, or maybe breaking my wrists or my ankles! THANK GOD none of that happened. I am not saying that it could NEVER happen, but THANK GOD, it didn’t happen today!
I am going to have another late night again, as I haven’t made it to the gym, but I wanted to come in and share my good news with you guys! Let me share a little secret–ice-skating is no joke. My class was 30 minutes long, but I got a good workout! I was sweating from head to toe!! Of course, I am not going to replace ice-skating with one of my workouts, but it would be a nice addition to what I’m already doing at the gym, wouldn’t it?
Buddies if you can, please show some love to an old-timer who has returned–my buddy Tanae who goes by the nickname BabyFat…please give her a warm, buddyslim welcome!
Ok sticker crew, let’s earn those babies! I’m off to earn my second sticker for the week!
Ice skating. I thought I was brave with my biggest loser moment but you are brave. I use to ice skate every winter here in Michigan. I loved it. I even had my own ice skates. Good luck Jo with the ice skating. You are unstoppable.
oooh I dont know about ice skating. The last time I went I fell on my knee and broke my knee cap…. yeah… dont think I’ll be taking that up again any time soon. But go you and the skates!!!
Gratz on the skating lesson, its always cool to confront a fear and try somthing even if you envision falling and losing some teeth!
You keep it up and you’ll be skating for the canuks in no time!!
I tried ice skating…once…last year. Lets just say, my 8 year old daughter had to pull me around the rink. I do love roller skating though! Good for you for giving something new a try
I thought of you in the dark hours of this morning. The alarm went off and because Paige has a two hour delay today, I really didn’t have to get up as early as usually. I had the inner battle with myself to stay in bed or get up and get moving. Our stickers won out and up I got. Thanks for making me get my butt in gear Jo!
Wow ice skating…now thats cool. I hope you enjoyed it!
I’ll try to find your buddy to welcome her!
You and me - same plane - we tried something new!!
Ice skating sounds like a ton of fun Cookie!!! I hope you enjoy it and keep going back and back!

I went ice skating for the first time of my life a couple weeks ago and hated it lol. It was hard to balance on the skates as I was walking towards the rink. I was so worried about falling so I kept holding onto the wall or I would hold onto my co-worker and my boyfriend. I stayed there for less than 30 minutes and called it quits. I said I’d never do it again, but never say never. The ice rink might see me again
I love ice skating!! Used to do it tons as a kid! Haven’t done it in a while now (not a lot of frozen ponds in Phoenix), but I go when ever I can!! Once you get the hang of it, you’ll love it!! Welcome back, Tanae!!
I have always wanted to try ice-skating but I too was always afraid of falling on my face. Good for you for enjoying a nice workout on ice. Keep up the great work hun
I’d love to ice skate, so I could play HOCKEY!
Great job trying something new.
What is the sticker thing I keep reading about? Is it part of one of the challenges?
You are soooo brave!! I would love to learn that, but my ankles are too weak!
